Shillong, February 15: Jamshedpur FC Reserves returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion, thrashing Mizoram Youth Football Foundation 8-1 in their Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) Zonal Round fixture at Wahiajer Stadium in Shillong. After struggling to convert chances in their previous 3-1 defeat to NorthEast United FC, Jamshedpur FC rediscovered their scoring touch, putting on a dominant display.
Lawmsangzuala was the star of the match, netting five goals, while Amzard Khand struck twice and Bivan Jyoti Laskar added another to complete the rout. Jamshedpur FC started the game with intensity, racing to a 5-1 lead by halftime and never allowing their opponents a chance to recover. Mizoram Youth Football Foundation managed to pull one goal back, but it was only a consolation in an otherwise one-sided contest.
Jamshedpur FC’s relentless attacking approach was evident from the outset, with Lawmsangzuala opening the floodgates early on. The combination of Bivan, Amzard, and Remson stretched the Mizoram defense, creating several scoring opportunities. Even in the second half, Jamshedpur maintained control and showed no signs of slowing down. Goalkeeper Md Adnan and defenders Sairem Sital Singh and Samuel Muansang played a key role in keeping Mizoram’s attacking threats at bay.
The victory takes Jamshedpur FC to third place in the table with nine points from six matches. With confidence restored, the team will now turn their attention to their crucial rematch against table-toppers NorthEast United FC on February 18, where they will look to continue their momentum and push for a higher finish in the standings
