Jamshedpur FC Reserves go down fighting 1 - 0 against TRAU FC in I-League Second Division

In their first match of the I-League Second Division, the Jamshedpur FC Reserves lost out 1 - 0 against TRAU FC. The hard-fought game took place at the JRD Tata Sports Complex where number of supporters thronged to the Furnace to see the young colts live in action.

Jamshedpur FC Reserves' manager, Rohit Singh played a strong line-up with the likes of Vishal Das, Billu Teli and Asifullah Khan being named in the starting XI. The home side began positively as Vishal Das and Naresh Kumar combined brilliantly in the 12th minute to create a chance for Samim Hossain.

Vishal Das then launched a vicious shot on goal in the 16th minute which went inches over the crossbar. Jamshedpur FC Reserves' goalkeeper, Amrit Gope was then called into the action in the 20th minute when he displayed brilliant composure to fend off TRAU FC's skipper, Emeka's one on one effort.

The first half came to a halt with both sides being goalless while the visitors had a better chance to go ahead. Eight minutes after the start, Emeka gave TRAU FC the lead at the Furnace, giving the hosts a mountain to climb. Vishal Das, Vijay Kumar and Billu Teli went into the referee's book for some rash challenges as the team tried hard to find a leveller.

Amrit Gope again produced a stunning save in the 67th minute to deny Emeka a brace and ultimately, keep Jamshedpur FC Reserves in the game. The hosts brought on Harsha Parui and Raisen Hansda in the final quarter of the game to change the narrative of the game.

But despite their best efforts, Jamshedpur FC Reserves failed to find an equalizer and went down fighting in their season opener. The young colts from Jamshedpur next play at home against Chhinga Veng FC on January 17.
