Jamshedpur FC share points with Kerala Blasters in a 2 - 2 draw at the Furnace

A game of two halves ensued at the Furnace with Jamshedpur FC and Kerala Blasters sharing the points in an intense 2 - 2 draw. Cesar Ferrando's men raced into a 2 - 0 lead at the break with Tim Cahill and Michael Soosairaj scoring their first goals for the club. But Kerala Blasters managed to wrestle back the advantage with second-half goals from Slavisa Stojanovic and CK Vineeth.

Jamshedpur FC started the game brightly and dominated possession right from the start. Tim Cahill scored his first goal in India as early as in the third minute, getting in on the end of a superb cross from Sergio Cidoncha. The Australian forward dived and thumped the ball past the Kerala goalkeeper.

Then it was the turn of Michael Soosairaj to make his mark. The attacker was afforded some space on the left and the former Chennai City FC player rifled his shot with a vicious bend past a hapless Naveen Kumar. Jamshedpur FC were sailing in the first half and went into the break with what looked like an unassailable lead at the break.

But it wasn't to be as Kerala Blasters took the field in the second interval, looking like an altogether different side. The visitors attacked with intent and Jamshedpur FC had to survive tides of Kerala attacks in the second interval. In the 55th minute, Sanjay Balmuchu, making his debut for the club, tripped Slavisa Stojanovic in the box and conceded a penalty.

Stojanovic took the penalty himself but it was splendidly saved by Subrata Paul. The Indian veteran guessed correctly and made a stunning stop. But the attacker made amends 15 minutes later when he volleyed Kerala's first goal of the game from a Seiminlen Doungel cross.

Kerala Blasters attacked with all their might after their first goal with Jamshedpur FC dropping deep to save their one goal advantage. But it wasn't to be as CK Vineeth poked in from close range from a Doungel cut-back to make matters level at the Furnace. Jamshedpur FC had couple of moments to hit the Blasters on the counter, but a winning goal wasn't on the menu tonight.

Jamshedpur FC have now drawn four games on a trot but their unbeaten start to the season see them sit fourth on the table. The side from Jharkand next play FC Goa on November 1 at the Furnace.
