Jamshedpur, July 22: Jamshedpur FC have bolstered their squad ahead of the 135th Durand Cup, confirming the signing of three new players Abhishek Ambekar, Aman CK and Devendra Murgaokar.
The additions further strengthen the squad as Jamshedpur FC prepare for their Durand Cup campaign, which will feature a blend of experienced senior players and emerging talent from the club's youth development system.
Abhishek Ambekar is a Mumbai-born left-back who played for Rajasthan United FC in the IFL last season. After developing through local Mumbai clubs and representing Maharashtra in the Santosh Trophy, he made his top-flight impact with Minerva Punjab, playing a key role in their 2017–18 I-League title victory. Known for his defensive consistency and work rate down the left flank, his career includes stints with Kolkata powerhouses Mohun Bagan and East Bengal, as well as Mohammedan SC and Sreenidi Deccan.
Joining the club is Kerala winger Aman C.K., who arrives from Gokulam Kerala FC. Aman began his footballing journey in local academies in Kerala before progressing through the youth systems of Mumbai City FC and East Bengal FC. He made his Indian Super League debut with East Bengal and was part of the squad that lifted the 2024 Super Cup. Renowned for his explosive pace and direct attacking play on the wings, Aman adds another exciting dimension to Jamshedpur FC's attacking options.
The Men of Steel have also secured the services of Goa-born forward Devendra Dhaku Murgaokar from Sporting Club Delhi. A versatile attacker capable of playing across the front line, Devendra rose to prominence with Salgaocar FC after finishing as the top scorer in the 2018-19 Goa Professional League, earning a move to FC Goa. He played a key role in FC Goa's triumph in the 2021 Durand Cup, finishing as the tournament's joint top scorer, and has also represented the club in the AFC Champions League.
Jamshedpur FC begin their Group C campaign in the 135th Durand Cup against Defenders FC of Sri Lanka on July 26 at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium in Ranchi. The Men of Steel will then face Sporting Club Delhi on August 4 before taking on Indian Air Force Football Team on August 13, with all three group-stage fixtures to be played in Ranchi.
