Jamshedpur FC suffers a narrow loss against Hyderabad FC

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur FC suffers another narrow loss as they went down 0-1 against Hyderabad tonight at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.

Aidy Boothroyd made two changes in the starting lineup for the game against Hyderabad. The Gaffer handed JET and Laldinpuia their first start of the season.

Jamshedpur FC started well with a quick attacking display. Boris Singh created the first chance of the night as early as the second minute of the game. Thereafter, the young Manipuri forward, kept the Nizams’ defence on their toes with his prolific display along the flank.

The Aidy Boothroyd side continued to press high letting no scope for the visitors to move on their own terms. Around the 20th-minute mark, Jamshedpur FC got a very close chance of opening their goal-scoring account when Chima was just yards out to find the back of the net. He headed it straight into the hands of the Hyderabad custodian, thus keeping the score unchanged.

Going into the lemon break, things remained all square as both sides were unable to break the opposition’s deadlock. Though the Nizams maintained most of the possession in the first half, it was Jamshedpur FC who created the most chances among the two.

Finally, in the 48th minute, the deadlock was broken in an event completely against the run of play. Jamshedpur started off dominating the game but it was the visitors who took the lead. Mohammad Yasir took a shot toward the near post, which went past a few bodies to find the net after defying Rehenesh.

The Men of Steel tried hard to find the equalizer throughout the entire second period of the game and even produced a bunch of opportunities in the attacking third. But none of the chances ended in the back of the net. As the match approached it’s final moments, the Men of Steel produced a golden chance in injury time when Ishan Pandita got into a one-on-one situation inside the box. A long ball towards the box is shot by Ishan on the bounce but was unable to find the perfect connection which resulted in the ball going off target

Despite putting up a tough fight against the defending champions, the Men of Steel were unfortunate to close the night in a narrow defeat at the Furnace. Jamshedpur FC will face Chennaiyin FC in an away game on the 19th of November, 2022 at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, Chennai.
