Jamshedpur FC thumps Tata Steel 8-0 in pre-season friendly!

Jamshedpur FC continued their sublime form in the pre-season as they thrashed Tata Steel 8-0 in a friendly game at the Tata Football Academy on Monday. Steve Coppell’s men were right on top of their game from the onset and did not let their opponents breathe.

The Nigerian forward Izu Azuka opened the scoring for Jamshedpur FC in the 16th minute of the game as Trindade Goncalves’ shot took a rebound off the goalkeeper. Azuka buried it into the back of the net with precision. Trindade was not disheartened as he put one in the back of the net in less than two minutes to make it 2-0.

Belfort scored from the spot in the 24th minute to make it 3-0 and by that time it was evident that we are in for a goal fest. The goals galore continued as Azuka was one of the usual suspects to have buried one in from Trindade’s cross in the 27th minute. He doubled his tally in the 37th minute after he scored from Souvik Chakrabarti’s through ball.

The first half of the match ended 5-0. Tata Steel boys were trying hard not to let Coppell’s men to get through their defense easily, but their effort went in vain. The scoring counter kept on ticking in the second half as well.

Tata Steel got a good opportunity to get one back by slotting a shot in in the Jamshedpur FC net, but luck did not seem to run their way as it hit the woodwork. Farukh Choudhary showcased his prowess as he scored from at least 30 yards out in the 78th minute. The midfield maestro, Souvik Chakrabarti, too registered his name on the scoring sheet in the 86th minute. Farukh put the final nail in the coffin in the dying minutes of the game and scripted a resounding score-line of 8-0 at the end of the 90 minutes.
