Guwahati, May 11: Jamshedpur FC U-17 will face a stern test as they take on AIFF-FIFA Talent Academy in the semifinal of the AIFF U-17 Elite Youth League on May 12 at 8:30 AM at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati. The two sides, who had earlier clashed in the group stage of the competition, now meet again with a spot in the national final at stake.
Jamshedpur FC have showcased grit, and character throughout the tournament. After finishing second in Group K in the group stage with 24 points, just one behind AIFF Talent Academy, the Young Men of Steel topped Playoff Group D and advanced to the final round. In the final round group, JFC overcame Corbett FC, drew with Classic Football Academy, and lost narrowly to Muthoot FA, qualifying for the quarterfinals on head-to-head advantage.
In the quarterfinal, JFC bounced back from a first-half deficit to beat NorthEast United FC 2-1, thanks to a second-half brace by Lawmsangzuala.
Meanwhile, AIFF-FIFA Talent Academy have looked ruthless, coming into the semifinal after a resounding 5-0 victory over Mohun Bagan Super Giant.
