Jamshedpur FC faced a tough 5-0 loss in the opener of Group B in the Durand Cup 2023 against Mumbai City FC. The young lads gave a tough fight against the current ISL Winners but came up short in the end.

An early goal for Jorge Pereyra Diaz of Mumbai City FC in the seventh minute of the game shook the young side. As the game proceeded further the young team of Jamshedpur FC tried to stop the Mumbaikars but another goal from Diaz in the 14th minute and Alberto Noguera in the 39th minute ended the first half with a lead of 3-0 for Mumbai City FC.

Yoell Van Neiff scored another goal in the 47th minute followed by Vikram Partap Singh in the 55th minute. The young Men of Steel started organising the defence and with a few saves from custodian Mohit Singh Dhami, stopped the opposition from adding more to the goal tally.

It may have been a tough loss, but the players will learn and will be ready for their next clash on 17th August at 3 PM at Mohun Bagan Ground against Indian Navy.
