Jamshedpur register a comfortable victory over Sreenidi Deccan

The Men of Steel are back to their winning ways. As they register a 3-0 win over Sreenidi Deccan. Goals from Ritwik Das and Daniel Chima sealed the victory for Jamshedpur FC.

The Jamshedpur squad were once again back in action to continue their pre-season campaign. After a defeat against RoundGlass Punjab, the Men of Steel hosted Sreenidi Deccan on their turf to share their second preseason game with the I-League side. Gaffer, Aidy chose the defensive duo, Peter and Eli at the back. While Wellington and Chima were placed in the midfield and attacking positions as his choice of foreigners for the game.

The first half began with fresh energy as both teams kicked off the game at the Flatlet ground. Jamshedpur FC soon established themselves as the dominant side out of the two in the early stages of the first half. The hosts took the lead in the first 20 minutes of the game with Ritwik opening up the account for his side. A free-kick from the left wing was headed deep into the box by Peter Hartley which was later sent to the back of the net by the young forward.

Jamshedpur doubled their lead just a few minutes later with Len passing the ball into the middle of the box to Chima from the right wing. The forward did not make any mistakes and drilled the ball into the goal with a clean finish. The Men of Steel had a dominant display as they led the game with 3 goals in the first 30 minutes of the game. Just a few minutes after his first goal, Chima came through with another to make it three for Jamshedpur. With a brilliant skill to beat the Sreenidi Deccan goalkeeper, Chima Chukwu slotted it into the back of the net with a calm left-footed finish into the bottom corner.

The second half was shared by both sides as Sreenidi Deccan looked for their opportunity to break the deadlock. But the Jamshedpur defence was compact enough to deny the opposition’s every chance at goal. The hosts also had a couple of shots at goal to try and extend the scoreline but were held back by the Sreenidi Deccan’s defence. None registered any goals in the second half of the game despite multiple scoring opportunities. The preseason fixture came to an end with Jamshedpur walking out with a comfortable victory at home.
