Jamshedpur U13s beat Sreenidi Deccan FC 2-0 to enter JSW Youth Cup semifinals on a high

The Jamshedpur FC U13 team came out victorious in their final group stage game at the JSW Youth Cup as they defeated Sreenidi Deccan FC 2-0 to enter the semifinals on a high.

The JSW Vidyanagar Ground in Bellary, Karnataka played host to another exciting game of the youth team on Sunday morning, and though qualification for the last four was already confirmed, the boys of steel played their hearts out and came out on top.

Jamshedpur U13s head coach Arshad Hussain had a plan from the beginning and stifled the Sreenidi attacking threat, with a dominant defensive display by the Jamshedpur side resulting in a 0-0 till the half-hour mark.

The game soon burst into life, however, with young Mohit Mukhi giving his team the lead in the 32nd minute with a calm finish past Sreenidi goalkeeper Advait Reddy Badvelu.

Sixteen minutes later, the killer blow arrived from Jamshedpur FC. Roshan Soren doubled the advantage for the boys of steel and sealed the victory comfortably for his team, with Sreenidi not having a response in store.

The win means that the U13 team goes up to seven points from four games at the JSW Youth Cup, winning two, drawing one and losing one of their matches.

The semifinals of the U13 division will be played on Tuesday, April 25, with the first-placed side taking on the fourth-placed side and the second-placed team playing the team that finished third.

The U15s will be in action in the final four on Monday, April 24, as Jamshedpur FC take on RoundGlass Punjab FC at 4 PM at the JSW Vidyanagar Ground in Bellary, Karnataka.
