Jamshedpur U13s lose 3-2 to Bengaluru FC in JSW Youth Cup

The Jamshedpur U13 team fell to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Bengaluru FC today despite a valiant fight at the JSW Vidyanagar Football Ground in Bellary, Karnataka.

The U15s lost by the same scoreline against the same opponent yesterday, and fate had something similar in store for the gritty boys of Steel once again despite a great showing.

The same team that picked up a 1-0 win last time out against RoundGlass Punjab started again and it paid off immediately.

Jamshedpur took the lead in this game thanks to a 29th-minute strike from Marshal Hembram, and the skipper was in the mood for more as he doubled his side’s advantage with a neat finish in the 41st minute of the game.

2-0 up and cruising, the youngsters could be forgiven for letting their foot off the gas pedal, and they were punished for it when opposition captain Akshit Arya slotted home in the 44th minute.

With the momentum in favour of BFC, they came out firing in the second period and got their equaliser in the 55th minute as Thiyam Sambay made it 2-2.

The turnaround was complete in the 70th minute as Rohan Manirama converted from the penalty spot to make it 3-2.

Bengaluru held on and picked up another vital victory in the tournament.

The U15s will have a chance to win their first game of the tournament tomorrow morning as they go head to head with Reliance Foundation Young Champs at 8 AM at the JSW Vidyanagar Football Ground
