Jamshedpur, August 22: JFC Reserves were left frustrated after being held to a goalless draw by Jamshedpur Boys’ Club in their Premier Division clash at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Thursday.
The young Men of Steel dominated large spells of the contest and created the better chances, but despite their attacking intent they could not find the decisive breakthrough. Forward Zuala posed an early threat, seeing one effort drift just wide, while Gopal Munda and Rayan also came close in quick succession.Forward tested the opposition goalkeeper with a low drive as JFC pressed hard either side of half-time.
However, Jamshedpur Boy’s Club remained disciplined and compact at the back, weathering wave after wave of JFC’s attacks. The visitors also rode their luck at times but showed fighting spirit, especially with their physical display that earned them multiple cautions. Sunil Kisku (32’), Sanjay Mahali (48’), Lakshman Baskey (86’), and Pankaj Kumar Hansda (90+2’) all went into the referee’s book alongside their coach, while JFC’s captain Mayanglambam Ronaldo Singh was the only home player cautioned after a challenge in the 62nd minute.
Despite JFC’s relentless push for a winner, including late chances, Jamshedpur Boys’ Club held firm until the final whistle to secure a hard-fought point.
