The India U-17 Women's National Team had gathered in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, for a coaching camp ahead of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, which will be held in India later this year. Seven players from the National team that have assembled in Jamshedpur, hail from meagre socio-economic groups from rural parts of Jharkhand, who have been chosen as the ‘Champions of Change’ to help combat social issues and child rights by UNICEF.

With the collaborative aid of UNICEF, these bright prospects have undergone multiple training courses and educational activities consisting of various measures to mitigate social issues which will help them become the agents of change in their communities while inspiring others young girls in the society at the same time.
These additions to the National team all belong to different parts of Jharkhand with Purnima Kumar belonging to Sim Dega, Astam Oraon, Salima Kumar and Sudha Ankita Tirkey belonging to Gumla and the rest of the players hailing from Ranchi.
All the players are between the ages of 14 and 17. The coveted tournament will be held in Bhubaneswar, Goa, and Mumbai and 18 will be shortlisted for the final squad from the 33-member squad.
