The Premier Division of the Jamshedpur Sporting Association (JSA) League kicked off today at JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand as defending Champions Tata Motors picked up a 3-1 victory against Pandit Ragunath Murmu Club.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Avinash Kumar, former Secretary of JSA, along with dignitaries such as the Working President of JSA, Mukul Choudhari, Vice President of JSA, Hemant Gupta, and Secretary of JSA, Oly. Anand Menezes.
The JSA committee also took the opportunity to provide a fitting farewell to former JSA Secretary, Avinash Kumar, expressing their gratitude for his selfless 16 years of service to JSA.
The guests of honour presented the brand new football which will be used exclusively for the JSA League 2023, the creation of which was sponsored by Jamshedpur FC and proudly features the logos of Jamshedpur FC, JSA and Jharkhand Football Association (JFA).
The football also features the famous Sohrai art of Jharkhand, and was presented to the match referees before kick-off at JRD Tata Sports Complex.
On the pitch, Tata Motors came from behind to beat PRMC 3-1, thanks to two second half goals from Sadhu Marandi (78’ & 93’) and a strike from Sunil Majhi (81’) to cancel out the first half strike from Sushil Mardi (40’).
In the other Premier Division match, Gramin Football Academy played out a 1-1 draw against Tata Steel at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium in Telco.
The Super Division also continued with a 2-1 win for Dalma Tiger Football Club over Aruna Samity club at Gopal Maidan while Barha Disom Football Team picked up a 2-1 victory over Jharkhand Bayar at Tinplate Sports Complex in A Division (Group B) action.
In A Division (Group A) action, Mohammedan Sporting Club drew 1-1 with Sidu Kanu Festival Association to close out an eventful day of action at the JSA League.
