All India Football Federation announced the official draw for the fourth edition of Kalinga Super Cup to be held in Odisha from 9th to 28th January.
Jamshedpur FC is placed in Group B alongside Kerala Blasters FC, Northeast United FC, and I-League team 2 (details explained below).
The ISL will undergo a break in January 2024 for the Indian National Team to participate in the AFC Asian Cup during which the Kalinga Super Cup will be played. The knockout tournament will see all twelve ISL clubs and four I-League clubs competing for the title.
The Kalinga Super Cup 2024 is divided into four groups with 16 participating clubs. All the matches are planned to be held at two different venues in Odisha.
This is how the I-League team to play against Jamshedpur FC will be decided:
Gokulam Kerala FC, Sreenidi Deccan FC, Shillong Lajong FC, Inter Kashi, and Rajasthan United FC are the five I-League teams who confirmed their participation in the Kalinga Super Cup 2024. Among these clubs, the top three as per the I-League 2023-24 standings after the matches on December 24, 2023, will qualify directly for the Kalinga Super Cup group stage as I-League team 1, I-League team 2, and I-League team 3, respectively. The bottom two teams will contest a single-leg qualifying play-off on January 9 to determine the fourth and final I-League team in the group stage. This team, known as I-League team 4, was not included in the draw pot and automatically got placed in Group D at Position D4.
