Lazar Cirkovic: Every opponent who comes here knows it won’t be easy to play in front of our fans

Jamshedpur, October 16: Jamshedpur FC defender Lazar Cirkovic believes that the Furnace is turning into a impregnable fortress with the support of the fans and the electric atmosphere.

“Jamshedpur FC has a loyal fan base that creates a great atmosphere, and it’s really fun and a pleasure to play in our stadium. Every opponent who comes here knows it won’t be easy, and that’s been proven in the games we’ve played at home. Their support means so much to us, and I want to thank them for that. They are our 12th player," said the Serbian defender.

The player is optimistic about his role in the team, and with three appearances, the Serbian center-back remains focused and determined to make his mark under head coach Khalid Jamil. The team had a good start in the Indian Super League and sits now on third position in the table with nine points in four matches.

"We definitely have a good team, which is confirmed by Jamshedpur's best start since the existence of the ISL. It’s always nice when you win, and I’ll do my best to help continue the series of good results! I haven't played too much so far, but I hope that changes soon. I'm ready to give 100% when the opportunity comes," he said.

"I think I've adapted well to the team's style of play, and even though I haven't had many minutes on the pitch, I’m working hard every day to earn more chances. My goal is to contribute to our defensive stability and show the coach that I can make a difference when called upon."

"This is my second year in India and the ISL. What I can say, and what we are witnessing, is that the competition this year is definitely better and stronger. A lot of teams have progressed in every sense, and you can see that reflected in the current standings," Cirkovic observed. The Men of Steel will face Hyderabad FC at JRD Tata Sports Complex on October 5 at 7. 30 PM
