Loyola U11s pick up 11-0 win in Week 4 of Golden Baby League with Jamshedpur FC Head Coach Aidy Boothroyd in

 

The Loyola Fighters U11 team beat Hill Top School Greenwood 11-0 in the Jamshedpur Golden Baby League held at Archery Ground at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

This was the largest margin of victory in Week four of the league and Loyola’s best result in the Baby League so far.

The parents and children were excited to witness the presence of Jamshedpur FC Head Coach Aidy Boothroyd for the first time since the start of the league, who met all the players and motivated them ahead of their respective matches.

“I’m delighted to be here and be a part of this, it’s great to see all the age groups playing and enjoying themselves along with their parents as well,” said Boothroyd.

“This is about young kids having fun, getting better and enjoying football.”

Jamshedpur FC Assistant Coach Noel Wilson was also present to provide words of encouragement to the players as they took to the pitch for more exciting encounters.

The second edition of the Jamshedpur Golden Baby League 2023, hosted by Jamshedpur FC in conjunction with Jharkhand Football Association (JFA) and Jharkhand Sporting Association (JSA) has been divided into U5, U7, U9, U11 and U13 categories for the benefit of kids across the city.

Week four of the tournament featured four teams from the U5, U9, U11 and U13 category, and one team from the U7 category, all involved in action across different pitches set up across the archery field at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

Jamshedpur Public School (JPS) was the new school added to the Baby League in week four and fielded their own teams in the tournament just days after being added to the Grassroots Football Schools program of Jamshedpur FC.

Five cadets from the Jamshedpur FC Youth Team (TFA) U17 were referees for the first time since the inception of the Baby League, and officiated the matches to the best of their abilities.

First team physiotherapists were on hand to help the kids in case of any injury, while refreshments were provided to all present at the Baby League.

The league will be hosted at the Archery Ground at JRD Tata Sports Complex every Sunday for 10 months, with new venues expected to be added as the season goes on.
