#JFCCFC Match Report: Jamshedpur FC kick start the season with a tough one

The Jamshedpur FC and Chennaiyin FC boys kick-off their season of the Indian Super League (ISL) as they go head to head for the 7th time. Both the teams aimed to start with a strong opener and grab the first 3 points of this season, which would give them the boost they need to climb the league table.

Both Jamshedpur FC and Chennaiyin FC started the match energetically. The players waste no time, as they pick up a fast pace in the first few minutes with both sides attacking each other to score their first goal. The first goal of the match is seen in the very first minute itself as Thapa scores an early opener for Chennaiyin with a very clean finish into the bottom corner taking his team to the lead. After conceding an early goal, the lads pick up pace in their attack as they get a freekick near the goal. Unfortunately, the captain, Peter Hartley, misses an easy chance to equalise the score for Jamshedpur with an open header as he puts the ball wide off.

As Jamshedpur FC misses the chance to equalise, Chennaiyin produces a chance to increase their lead as Isma almost takes a shot on goal, but Stephen Eze comes to the rescue and makes a successful tackle and blocks the ball away. Chennaiyin FC keep the ball on their side while aggressively marking every man in the Jamshedpur side. Chennaiyin almost net-in another goal after a strong passing strategy but are denied by Rehenesh at goal.

A nasty push by Isaac to the opposition inside the box leads to a penalty awarded to Chennaiyin FC. Isma takes the lead up with another goal as he finishes into the right bottom corner. After a few plays, Chennaiyin produce another chance at goal with a beautiful set piece by Thapa and Isma, as he takes a shot on goal but is denied, yet again by the man at goal for Jamshedpur. Peter Hartley is subbed off the field and replaced by Narender as Peter picks up an injury in his right thigh.

The golden boot winner of the previous season proves he is the best forward in the league as he scores a stunning header from an on-point lobbed cross from Jackichand. The Red Miners pick up pace and seem more confident in their play after their first goal, as the boys start raining a number of attacks on the Chennaiyin defence, looking to equalise the score-line before the half time.

The second half commences with Nick Fitzgerald replacing Narender in the midfield. Both the teams maintain the pace of the match, as they pass the ball around quickly, looking to score more goals. The Chennaiyin keeper, V.Kaith, makes an error at the edge of the box as he fails to catch the ball and gives away the ball to the opposition who take a shot at goal but, luckily the ball is cleared away by the defender.

As the match proceeds, both the sides get even more aggressive with their defence as a number of fouls and tackles are seen all over the field. Deepak Tangri, of the Chennai side is shown a yellow card after a reckless sliding tackle in the mid-field. Towards the end, the match reaches the highest level of intensity, as a fight breaks up in the Jamshedpur penalty box between both the team players and the referee settles down the quarrel, as he separates the players and orders to continue with the fixture. After the heated argument amongst the players, the boys of Chennaiyin FC unleash a barrage of attacks against the Red Miners as they aim to finish the match with a bigger margin. Just as the match approaches full time, Valskis makes attempts to score his second goal and equalise the score but is secured by the goalkeeper as he safeguards the ball in his hands.

The competitive fixture comes to an end with Chennaiyin FC securing the 3 points and moving up to the first position on the table, in their first match for the season with a scoreboard of 2-1.
