Jamshedpur, September 11: For Jamshedpur FC’s young winger Mohammed Sanan, the past few months have been a period of growth and lessons learned. Fresh from his stint with the India U23 side in Doha for AFC U23 Asia Cup 2026 Qualifiers, where the team came agonisingly close to advancing, Sanan is determined to translate his international exposure into a bigger impact for his club in the upcoming season.
Reflecting on the high-intensity clash against Qatar U23, Sanan described it as a turning point in his development. “It was a big step forward. Qatar away demanded pace, concentration, and composure, and the game’s speed sharpened my decision making on the wing. Delivering the cross for Suhail’s header showed the work we’ve been doing in wide area patterns can hurt strong teams, and it gives confidence to keep being brave in 1v1s and the final ball,” he said.
At club level, the 20-year-old is focused on cementing his place in the Jamshedpur FC first team. “The focus is on consistent minutes, end product, and refining details, timing of runs, weaker foot delivery, and decision speed in transition, so the output in goals and assists grows naturally. Jamshedpur gives young players real opportunities, and the target is to convert that trust into match-winning contributions and push for individual growth that helps the team’s objectives,” Sanan explained.
The Doha campaign ended in heartbreak for the Blue Colts, who narrowly missed out on progressing further, but Sanan insists the experience has only strengthened the team’s resolve. “It hurts because the group believed we had done enough, and moments like the Qatar match show we can compete but small details decide qualification. The takeaway is to turn those fine margins in our favor with cleaner execution in both boxes, carry the Doha intensity back to club football, and return to the national camp with even more end product,” he said.
With Jamshedpur FC preparing for the new season, Sanan’s renewed confidence from international duty could prove decisive.
