Jamshedpur, October 12: Jamshedpur FC’s midfield general Pronay Halder has extended his stay with the club for two more seasons, committing himself to the Men of Steel until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.
The experienced midfielder, who first joined Jamshedpur in ISL Shield winning season, has been a vital presence in the centre of the park. He is known for his calm control, defensive intelligence, and leadership on the pitch. This marks his second contract renewal with the club, following his previous one-year extension announced last year.
Pronay, who is TFA graduate, had a remarkable season last year as he came back from an injury to guide the team to the semifinal of the ISL. Halder was instrumental in guiding Jamshedpur’s midfield last season, adapting to different tactical roles while maintaining consistency, which helped Jamshedpur FC to reach the final of the Super Cup. The Kolkata-born midfielder’s ability to win duels and distribute effectively is expected to play a central role in the team’s plans.
Expressing his delight at continuing his journey with Jamshedpur, Pronay said, “I am very happy to continue with Jamshedpur FC. This club has given me a lot of confidence and responsibility, and I feel at home here. We have built a strong core under the new setup, and my focus now is to help the team fight for trophies and make the fans proud. The support from the people of Jamshedpur has always been special to me.”
Over the years, Halder has emerged as one of the most reliable defensive midfielders in the Indian Super League. With over 160 club appearances and 25 international caps for India, his experience adds balance to a young and evolving Jamshedpur squad.
Head Coach Steven Dias welcomed the extension, highlighting Pronay’s influence both on and off the field. “Pronay is a player who brings stability and maturity to the midfield. His reading of the game and communication make a huge difference to our structure. He leads by example in training and matches, and I’m really glad he’s staying for the long term. Players like him are the backbone of a team,” Dias said.
As the Men of Steel prepare for another challenging Indian Super League campaign, Halder’s extended stay brings both continuity and confidence to a side eager to make a strong statement in the seasons ahead.
