Jamshedpur, July 21: With the 135th Durand Cup fast approaching, football fans in Ranchi are set for a historic occasion as Jamshedpur FC prepare to play competitive matches in the state capital for the very first time.

Although based in Jamshedpur, the Men of Steel proudly represent the entire state of Jharkhand as its only professional football club. The Durand Cup presents a unique opportunity for supporters from Ranchi and neighbouring districts to witness their team in action on home soil when Group C matches are played at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium.

The 30,000-capacity stadium will host seven matches, including a quarter-final, making Ranchi one of the host cities of the prestigious tournament for the first time. Jamshedpur FC will face Defenders FC of Sri Lanka on July 26, Sporting Club Delhi on August 4 and Indian Air Force Football Team on August 13, with all three group-stage fixtures scheduled in Ranchi.

Entry to all Durand Cup matches in Ranchi will be free of cost. However, fans will be required to collect physical entry tickets from the Birsa Munda Football Stadium before the matches. Details regarding ticket distribution will be announced by the organisers in due course.
