Shyama Prasad Intermediate College from Jamshedpur city have qualified for the finals of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports Initiative. The school showed exceptional resilience and determination to qualify for the final stages of the competition. The kids are from a village in Jamshedpur and have come up the ranks through a lot of hardship.
They cleared the City championship which they won the finals by defeating Jusco School located in Kadma by 5-1. They proceeded to the National qualifiers of the East Zonal Bhubaneswar at two venues, KISS (Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences) and KIIT (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology) where they had 2 wins and 1 draw respectively - against Kalinga Institute of Social Science School, they won 2-0, against Gustia Kshetranath High School, they won 2-1, and against Imphal Wangoi HR Secondary School, they drew 1-1.
They have qualified for the final stages where more than 7 teams will be coming from different cities such as Bangalore, Goa, Chandigarh, Delhi, Shillong, Kozhikode and Ahmedabad.
