Subrata Paul: I am proud of the team

Subrata Paul has been in sublime form this season. Having made 26 saves in the 2019-20 campaign so far, Paul is a solid contender for this year’s Golden Glove award. Taking a look at his statistics in the ISL, the Kolkata-born is arguably the best Indian goalkeeper in the Indian Super League. No other goalkeeper has made more saves than Subrata Paul in the ISL (232). The veteran shot-stopper also has the most number of clean sheets (26) to his name in the history of the Indian Super League.

Though he did not have a great day between the sticks against Kerala Blasters FC last night, conceding two goals, the Indian international claimed to be ‘proud’ of his team’s overall performance.

“One point is always better than nothing. It will end up helping us in the longer run. I’m not happy personally because I conceded two goals, but I am very happy with the team. The boys have worked hard and I am very proud of them,” opined the custodian.
