Tata Motors beat Tata Steel 2-0 in JSA League Premier Division at JRD Tata Sports Complex

 

Defending JSA League Premier Division Champions Tata Motors picked up a crucial 2-0 win against Tata Steel at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in an entertaining encounter.

The high profile fixture witnessed the largest crowd yet at JRD in the JSA League, with support split for both top teams.

The match was evenly contested in the first half, but it was Tata Motors who broke the deadlock just moments before the half-time break, as Haji Soren lobbed the goalkeeper amid shouts for handball to give his team the lead.

Ranjeet Mardi scored the second for Tata Motors in the 69th minute to kill the game off and despite many chances, Tata Steel were unable to score.

In A Division (Group A) action, Classic Eight beat Katin FC 1-0 at the Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium in Telco, while Gopal Maidan played host to the Super Division match between Dobo Sangram Sangah and Jungle Tiger Football Academy where Dobo Sangram Sangah won 1-0.

In the other A Division (Group A) match of the day, Mohammedan Sporting Club drew 1-1 with Adivasi Ritui Gondai Club at Armoury Ground, while A Division (Group B) action saw Sidhu Kanu Memorial Club lose 2-1 to New Boys Club at Tinplate Sports Complex.
