The players from Thakkar Bapa Club put on a strong showing at Gopal Maidan and managed to pick up a slender 2-1 victory over Dobo Sangram Sangh in the Super Division of the JSA League.
After a slowish start to the match, it was Thakkar Bapa who took the lead following a 36th minute strike from Vikash Sinku. Sinku was looking in good form, and scored again in the second half thanks to a 57th minute moment of magic.
Bikesh Mahato got Dobo Sangram Sangh back in the game moments later, scoring in the 59th minute, but it did not prove to be enough as Thakkar Bapa held on to take home all three points.
There was more action across the JSA League, as Sidhu Kanu Memorial Club picked up an entertaining 4-2 victory over Vikash Samiti in A Division (Group B) action at Armoury Ground.
In the Premier Division, Narwa Pahar Sports Club and Andhra Sporting Union played out a 0-0 draw at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, while the other Super Division game saw Gram Vikas Kendra draw 1-1 with Jungle Tiger Football Academy at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium in Telco.
In the A Division (Group A) contest of the day at Tinplate Sports Complex, Katin Football Club beat Urban Services by a narrow 1-0 margin to round off another exciting day of action at the JSA League.
