“The way we reacted after Tiri’s injury & won is something to be proud of” - Coach Antonio post #JFCKBFC

Let’s begin by saying - Jamshedpur FC continue their unbeaten run against Kerala Blasters FC. At the #JFCKBFC pre-match conference, Coach Antonio Iriondo said ”We have to be focused on the next match, win it and then go to the next one. I am confident with the team and I’m sure we have the quality to win the next match and finish in the top four.”

To say that they made a winning comeback after three consecutive defeats would be an understatement and every player and fan of Jamshedpur FC can be a testament to that fact.

Where Noe Acosta levelled the score in the first half, Sergio Castel made a rockstar-like comeback and delivered a penalty shot. The team looked high in spirits after the much-needed second goal and an own goal scored by the Kerala Blasters skipper, Ogbeche.

In the post-match press conference, Coach Antonio expressed his joy over tonight’s result and what lies ahead.

On the team conceding goals

I don’t think we have a defensive problem, it is mostly individual mistakes. That one mistake cost us the first goal. If you look at the stats, the goalkeeper didn’t have many shots to save. I think after conceding like that and after losing Tiri through an injury early on, the way we reacted and won, in the end, is something to be proud of.

On Sergio Castel’s big return and the selection issues he may face in the upcoming games

We love to have such selection issues. What we do not like is not having players to choose from. Hopefully, Castel will be ready for the next match. He made a big effort to be on the pitch today. Maybe Piti will be back too. The team in the offence looks different, and this is a problem we would like to have.

Injury update on Tiri

He’s alright with no fracture in the ribs or an internal injury. He is out of pain now, but he'll stay in the hospital tonight just to be on the safe side.
