The Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 season is scheduled to begin on 19th November with the club playing its first match vs SC East Bengal on 21st November.
The team is scheduled to arrive in Goa from 30th September onwards and the players and staff will follow the 8-day quarantine protocol set as per the Health and Safety guidelines of the league. The mandatory quarantine is evenly applicable to all Indians and foreigners alike. To maintain safety and follow the precautionary measures, the members of all clubs will be in a complete bio-bubble environment throughout the season as followed in the previous season as well.
THE STAY
The team will be accommodated at the Cidade de Goa - IHCL SeleQtions in Panaji, Goa in a fully secured bio-bubble environment. Designed as a Portuguese hamlet (a small village) with a Mediterranean influence by world-renowned architect, Charles Correa, Cidade de Goa will provide top-notch facilities to the players and staff to help contribute with optimum performances.
The location of the hotel is ideal with the time taken to travel between the hotel from the practice ground as well as the home stadium being 15 to 20 minutes on a usual day.
PRACTICE GROUND & PRE-SEASON
The team will be making use of the Don Bosco training ground located in Panaji for their pre-season training which is also the pitch where Jamshedpur FC played one of their friendly matches against FC Goa last season. This is also where Sporting Club de Goa and the Indian U17 Women's team have trained before.
The pre-season will last 6 weeks leading up to the first match versus the Red & Gold Brigade at Tilak Maidan. The pre-season will include every player’s fitness examinations, physical sessions, training sessions and practice matches to prepare and achieve the optimal fitness required for the games to be played in the season.
Don Bosco ground in Panaji is a very good ground for any ISL team to train. It’s here that Sporting Clube train. For now, it’s not been taken, but I won’t be surprised if some teams change their option and switch here.#Indianfootball #ISL pic.twitter.com/ex0H7dKcJh
