The young guns of Jamshedpur FC suffer a defeat in the RFDL

The Youth squad of Jamshedpur FC suffered another drawback in their Reliance Foundation Development League campaign when the RF Young Champs defeated them with a slim full-time scoreline of 1-0. After conceding a second defeat in the league, the lads were scheduled to face the table toppers, Bengaluru FC in their next fixture.

Before kicking the game off, Bengaluru had maintained their lead at the top of the table with an undefeated run while Jamshedpur FC aimed to breakdown the streak and get back to winning ways as their determined side took an early lead at the Nagoa Ground thanks to Lenin Singh's fourth-minute goal, but it was all Bengaluru after the first few minutes of the game.

Jamshedpur FC’s Lalruatmawia and Metei combined superbly to set up the defence, and Lenin capped off a fantastic team play to give Jamshedpur the lead in the opening minutes, however, Bengaluru wasted no time to bring themselves back in the game with Raju meeting Namgyal Bhutia's cross inside the box with a spectacular scissor kick that flew into the goal and made it 1-1.

Later, when Jagdeep's ball into the box caught the Jamshedpur defence off guard and Lastborn took advantage of the free ball to slot it in from close range.

In the second period of the game, Bekey drew the keeper off his line before smashing home after Damaitphang Lyngdoh and Raju combined well in the final third. Bengaluru were awarded a fourth goal just a minute later when Raju pounced on a loose ball and dinked it over the keeper after a defensive error occurred.

Despite having a strong lead, the Blues kept their hunt on as Amay Morajkar's corner found Jagdeep at the hour mark, who headed in to make it 5-1. 10 Minutes later, Jamshedpur FC’s Barla scored a goal for Jamshedpur when Robin Yadav's clearance went astray and reduced the lead by a slight margin, thus ending the one-sided game with the final score being 5-2 and with this, unfortunately, the Jamshedpur FC Youth Team were out of qualification contention after this loss.
