Jamshedpur, October 13: Jamshedpur FC winger Vincy Barretto has expressed his delight at continuing with the club, highlighting the unity within the team and the positive environment that has helped him develop as a player. After an impressive Durand Cup campaign, Vincy spoke about his experience, and ambitions, ahead of the upcoming Super Cup.
“I really enjoyed my time with the team during the Durand Cup. The club’s environment, the support from the staff, and the belief shown in me made a huge difference,” Vincy said. “There’s a strong sense of togetherness here, and I felt that staying on would give me the best opportunity to grow further as a player and help the team achieve its goals this season.”
Vincy also shared his thoughts on working under Head Coach Steven Dias, who has been instrumental in shaping the team’s attacking style. “Working with Coach Steven Dias has been a great experience. He’s very clear about his philosophy and what he expects from each player. As someone who emphasizes attacking football and wing play, his approach perfectly fits my style,” he explained. “He gives me the freedom to express myself on the field but also focuses a lot on discipline and tactical awareness, which helps me become a more complete player.”
The Goan winger is determined to make this season a defining one in his career. “I see this as an important step in my career. The club has a strong vision, and I want to be part of that progress. My aim is to keep improving, contribute consistently, and help Jamshedpur FC fight for top positions in every match,” he said.
Vincy added that his focus remains on sharpening his skills and maintaining consistency. “I plan to keep working hard on my fitness, decision-making, and end product whether it’s delivering better crosses or finishing chances myself. Consistency is key, and I want to make sure I bring that same energy and sharpness to every match this season.”
The Men of Steel will open their campaign against FC Goa on October 26, followed by matches against North East United FC on October 29 and Inter Kashi on November 1 in the Group B fixtures to be played at Goa.
