“We have kept on believing that we can make it to the semi-final” – Bobby Mimms

Jamshedpur FC are looking to continue their surge as they will lock horns with NorthEast United FC at The Furnace on February 10. The visitors are out of the top four race and they will be looking to salvage some pride. On the other hand, we will look to continue with the momentum gained in the last five matches.

Ahead of the crucial encounter, our Goalkeeping Coach Bobby Mimms shared his thoughts. Here is what he had to say:

On goalkeeper’s role in this season so far…

Goalkeeper plays a big part. People talk about the back fours, back threes or the back five but the goalkeeper is vital to the outcome of the defensive work. Our defensive unit has been consistent, but they must trust their goalkeeper. And when the defenders are outplayed, then the goalkeeper comes into play and Subrata has done an outstanding job in this season so far, making brilliant saves and keeping the danger at bay.

On NorthEast United’s forwards…

When we played them the first time, I felt they were very good. I am surprised with the way things have panned out for them. Yes, it is going to be a difficult game for us. We must play well get the result in our favour.

On Jamshedpur FC’s current run of form…

Fans have played a massive role in our current run of form as they have come out in numbers and motivated the players to get positive results. I think we were unfortunate not to have won games in the start of the season. We have kept on believing that we can make it to the playoffs. We have not given up. We will keep working hard to reap the rewards at the end of the season.
