"We will try and play our best against NorthEast United," says Rehenesh ahead of #JFCNEU

Goalkeeper, TP Rehenesh, talks about the things that didn’t work out as per the plan in #FCGJFC, the upcoming match against NorthEast United FC and more.

Here are the excerpts from the interview.

On what went wrong in the last 2 matches

We had enough chances to score and turn the outcome around, but I think it was not our lucky day. We let them play and pass around more than we should have. After the long break, we relaxed too much which cost us the 2 games. It will be tough to reach the playoffs if we don’t perform well in the upcoming games.

On the team's overall performance and those who had multiple chances to score in #FCGJFC

If you watched the match, you would have seen that we did create ample chances to score in the match but it was clearly not our lucky day. But, this is common in football and we know that luck does play an important part in the outcome of the game. So, hopefully we will perform better from the next match.

On the plans of staying in the qualifying race and recovering from the losses

We are still in the race for qualifying to the playoffs. The team has made a lot of sacrifices to reach this point. Being in the bio-bubble has been tough on everyone and everyone here at the club has worked really hard for the fixtures. In the first leg of the season, we managed to get some good results, so we need to work harder to get back in that form again.

On the camp’s atmosphere after the 2 losses

Of course, after the game was finished, the team felt disappointed with the outcome, but we have not reached our main target yet. So, we are going to keep our morale high and work hard in the training sessions to reach our goal by the end of the season.

On NorthEast United being the next opponent

They have good players on their side but right now, I want to focus on our team and we need to concentrate on getting back on track. We will try and play our best tomorrow against NorthEast United FC.
