“We worked hard together and we are confident” - Dinliana ahead of #FCGJFC

Moving forward after ending the first fixture against SC East Bengal in a draw, the Men of Steel will now set their focus on their next intense game against FC Goa.

As the squad gears up for their next game, the defender talked about the team working on the areas of improvement after the last result and facing FC Goa for their second game of the season.

Here are the excerpts of the pre-match interview:

How frustrated were you to not grab the 3 points in the previous game against SC East Bengal ?

The team tried to win the game and get the 3 points, unfortunately the game ended with the score being 1-1 which was not a satisfying result for us. In football, anything can happen, so we need to be happy with the one point that we get and look forward to the next game.

What are some of the areas to improve on as you gear up for your next game ?

We made a few mistakes and mispassed the ball a lot of times in the previous game and we are working on that in our training session to help us improve in the next game.

Do you think the pre-season helped you learn from these mistakes ?

In the pre-season, we worked hard together as a team and we are confident with our squad this season.

After losing to Mumbai City FC in their first game, do you think FC Goa will be even more motivated to win when playing against Jamshedpur FC ?

FC Goa are a strong team who will step in with their best squad. Despite not getting the win in the last game, it is going to be a tough fixture.

After losing both games in the last season vs FC Goa, does it motivate the players more to grab a victory when you face them next ?

Every season, some players leave and some new ones join the club. So, this is a new team as compared to last season and I feel we have a stronger squad this season which gives me more motivation to try and win against FC Goa.

Being one of the regulars in the line-up due to the Gaffer’s trust in you, how does this trust help you in your career and future ahead ?

The head coach trusts me a lot which gives me even more confidence when I am on the pitch and using that, I want to bring the Hero Indian Super League trophy back home to Jamshedpur and its fans, while also aiming to be the best player in my position to play for the Indian National team someday.
