Jitendra Singh and Boris Singh came together with some shortlisted fans from a contest and deep dived into some interesting topics of conversation including their personal experience at the club, their views on the Men of Steel and some fun memories from behind the scenes at Jamshedpur FC.
Here are the excerpts from the Live session
Who is your favorite player in the club?
Boris: To be honest, I do not have a specific favorite player. I like all the players in the club as they possess some of the abilities that I do not have; they are much more experienced than I am. So I keep asking for advice from them to improve my game further and I keep learning a lot from them.
Any pranks that you have played on your teammates or each other
Boris: I have a lot of fun with Jitu all the time. Whenever he goes to his room, I go and annoy him for fun and then he tries to kick me out of his room, but I stay put to annoy him even further. We have been together for around 5-6 years, so he is like a brother to me. We keep messing around with each other whenever we are around and we have also shared the same room for almost 3 years.
Jitu: Boris and I are very close since we have spent a lot of time together in the last 6 years. We have shared a lot of moments together on and off the pitch. So we have a good understanding of each other. Boris does not jel much with everyone and he is close to very few people. So I am lucky to be one of them. Since we are young, we often meet a lot of players in our age range who we can discuss the game with and Boris is one of them, who often comes over to my room to talk about the game. We have a lot of fun together and it feels good to relax with teammates after a match.
Any funny memory from the time spent within the bio-bubble
Jitu: When we used to compete in training, the coach used to keep a forfeit that the player who misses their last 5 shots has to dance in front of the whole team. So once, I had to do this forfeit and I danced in front of everyone in the team. When I went back to my room and rewatched the video of my dance, I laughed a lot and that became a good memory in the bio-bubble for me.
Your thoughts on our captain, Peter Hartley
Boris: He is a very positive person. Whenever we head for a match, he motivates us right from our journey to the stadium to the final whistle. He tells us to play for the fans that support us even though fans are not present in the stadium. He possesses all the qualities that a captain should have. He always supports me in training and advises me when I get on the pitch. So he is a really good guy and I really like him.
Except Boris, who else do you enjoy spending your time with from the club?
Jitu: Everyone is really welcoming and fun to be around. But Narender, Sandip Mandi and our former teammate, Amarjit, all are closer to Boris and I as we all are around the same age category and we have spent time together before in the national team, which makes us more comfortable around each other and have fun with. We cannot really joke around as openly with the senior players since we are much younger to them, but we mostly have fun with the teammates from our age group.
Boris: I spent a lot of time and had fun with Jitu, Narender, Niraj and Sandip Mandi at Jamshedpur FC. We used to hang out after training and matches to talk about our performance while also having our meals together. I also argue with them over football topics but it is always fun to be around them.
